It depends where it is painful.....if you had stitches then it could be as simple as the doctor being over zealous with the amount that he put in. You should get some advice from your GP, good luck

could be several things, depending on where specifically the pain is..... it could be caused by being sewn up a little too tightly after having an episiotomy, or tearing, or it could be that the scar tissue from the cut / tear hasn't healed well..... if the pain is further inside u than that, then u could have a problem with your cervix. i know u probably don't want to, but u should get it checked out by a nurse / doctor. i've had fun and games too, and my son is 4 years old now ! i can actually predict when it's going to rain, because my episiotomy scar aches when bad weather is due !!! lol

There could be several reasons for painful sex after giving birth. Firstly you need time to heal. Its recommended not to have sex for at least 6 weeks after giving birth,,and the first couple of times will hurt , especially if you have had stitches so are stretching a newly healed scar. It could also be psychological..the fear of it hurting after so much trauma down there could cause you to clamp up and make it hurt more! best thing to do is relax and take it slowly. Are you worried about it happening again with another child? 2 years later seems a strange time to ask the question.

if you had stitches they may have stitched you back up too small (put too many stitches in). this is a common problem and can be resolved. Go and see your doctor or practice nurse to discus the matter and ask them what it could be as it could be something more serious. Especially if your still experiancing the pain during sex.
Good luck! hope everything works out for you....

I had the same experience a year ago after having my 4th child. I had surgery about a month ago and found out it was endometriosis that was causing the pain.
If you'd like to chat about this feel free to IM me. My ID is rt49andellis
