does anyone know any techniqes or supplies that will heal them quicker?

Try ice on the spot. I really like to use teatree oil, it's now sold at WalMart as well as health food stores. Another good one is clove oil, still sold in many drug stores. With clove oil, though, dilute it about half with olive oil. It's too strong to use straight.

abreva cuts cold sores pretty faster. It's pricey but worth it to cut the healing process faster.

you can kiss my upper lip and the sore on ur lower lip will heal in 2 hours max.. if ur upper lip is the one that needs to be healed, my lower lip is the one u should suck on... but you should stay kissing me until i say its enough.. and u will see the results real fast.. satisfaction is guaranteed or ull get ur kiss back.. nothin to loose :)

abreva lip cream it's expensive about 16.00 a tub but it works great
