I have seen that I am a dynamic customer of a Leading ISP in US and I am seeing that from the past 10 days i am getting the same IP address. whereas as per the rules of a dynamic customer the ipaddress refreshes every 8 hours. but my ip address shows "interim update" . What exactly does it means. ?

Most ISP's use dynamic address allocation, as it is more cost effective.
Depending on their policy, they will allocate an address from one day onwards, most tend to last for about 7 days or so.
The 8 hour time scale is unusual as this would add extra load to their servers.
Interim update may indicate they are changing their dynamic ip addresing structure, I would not be too concerned about it.

Not sure what "interim update" means. Never seen it myself. My IP is dynamic but has only changed once in 5 years now - a couple of days ago.
