Gotta admit I've done that once or twice in my clubbing years... it takes away the sting, but it still leaves you mentally cloudy and generally sluggish. At least you won't be in actual pain =)
Drinking plenty of water is still the best hangover cure and don't skip the shower even if you plan to veg in front of the tv all day. (Showering helps rehydrate your body too.)

Like "a hair of the dog that bit you" (drinking more), it only postpones it.
And is probably even worse for you - despite what the "Legalise" people are trying to say - in the long run.
