Instead of parking in a spot that is farther away, so that they could walk more and get additional exercise?

good question. most people associate their workout inside the walls. if you're willing to park farther away, I"m sure other people won't complain.

Could be a safety concern for the ladies, might be rainy out, some people may like to have their car in view because of theft.
There may be others.

Probably for much the same reason I have seen people order a Triple Whopper, large fry and A DIET COKE!

The same reason people order 3 big macs 3 biggie fries then ask the waitperson to make sure they get a biggie DIET coke.It all defies sense!!!!

because most people that go to a gym to workout are dead tired when they are finished with there workouts.

because this time a year, most places are cold. and people dont tend to like to hang out in the cold.
