It might just be really scared, but rabbits can injure their backs pretty easily if they kick hard while they are being held without having their backs supported. If she can still move and use her back legs, she's probably just shook up. Let her have some quiet time, and if she isn't back to normal by tomorrow or Monday, take her to a vet. Good Luck!!

It may be OK. If it hopped in, then it may be ok. What you'll want to look for is if it can move its back limbs. Probably the only thing your sister could have done to it is possibly break its back. If so, your rabbit will not be able to move its back limbs or hop with its back feet. If its back limbs are paralyzed it won't be able to feel anything you do to the back of its body like pinching it.

The breathing hard can be from the rabbit struggling or being squeezed too hard and the ears twitch can be from just being scared.

So check to see if it is paralyzed in the rear end. If not, your rabbit is probably fine.

If the rabbit's back has been broken, there is little to nothing the vet will be able to do to help other than give it some cortizone.

You should take your rabbit to the vet if it is not looking better soon. Rabbits can be sensitive. Their ears are especially sensitive and their hind legs are very strong. Rabbits can kick their hind legs hard enough to kick their backs, which is why you should always support your bunny's feet when holding. You said it hopped into the cage, so I guess that's not the problem. Take the cage to a dark, quiet place for a while. If it doesn't calm down, take it to the vet.

It's probably just really shook up, leave it alone for a few hours or so if it isn't any better after awhile take it to a vet and if you wanna just be on the safe side take it to a vet now.

It could have been injured. Is your younger sister able to be trusted alone with the rabbit? If dropped, they can easily get back injuries or broken limbs.

Also, do you have any chemicals out or plants that could have poisoned the animal?

it is probably stressed. leave it alone and put some tasty treats in, he should come around soon, but if he doesn't i would take him to the vet to make sure he isn't hurt. Good Luck and Happy Holidays!
