Hmmm... what is your current card, anyway?

Basically, I think you would need at least a graphics card with 256 MB, possibly more (maybe 512) to make the image clear on your super-big display. Generally, I think you would need a 512 MB card (minimum) for a thirty inch 2500x1600 resolution (the resolution should be around there) display.

So I would recommend looking at a graphics card made by Nvidia or ATI, such as the 7950 GT or 7900 GTX by Nvidia, or possibly the 8800 GTX or the 8800 GTS, if you want the best video cards by Nvidia. For ATI, there are are various other cards which I'm not familiar with yet.

I'm talking about spending a lot of money, but hey, you have a 42 inch uber-display, so you need a powerful graphics card to feed it pixels.

The card type is irrelevant, as long as it can drive the display at the highest resolution that the display accepts. A display that large has fairly large pixels, so there will perforce be clarity issues.

i like how you told us its a 42 inch display, thereby letting us know how big it is, which is irrelevant, and leaving out the resolution. your card, which model you also should have told us by the way, should be able to display the exact resolution needed, and it usually doesn't matter which one it is.
