Does anyone else get crazy memories coming back when you listen to certain songs? Does it ever help you realize things? What songs remind you of what.

it's mostly bad except the drinkin songs

Oh yes, I do that with just about every song I hear. I can always remember when a song was popular by what/who it reminds me of - that's how often I do this. One of my all-time favorite songs "Walk On" by U2, is a song I listened to over and over during the time I was in paramedic school, so it reminds me of all the hard work and sacrifice it took to get through the program. I love being a paramedic and I'm proud of what I do, so this is one song in particular that always brings alot of memories and emotions. Then there's Coldplay's "The Scientist" which, if you've ever listened to it and/or watched the video, you know it's about sadness and regret over someone's death and wanting them back to have a chance to say things that were left unsaid. Well, the first time I ever heard that song I was in the funeral procession for a friend who was like a younger sis to me (she was 20). I heard it while driving from the church to the cemetery, so you can just imagine what kind of memories that one brings back. I could go on and on, but those are two of my best examples.....

Yeah, there are definitely alot of songs that bring back memories for me...and yes, music has always helped me realize certain things....its pretty amazing how a song can have such an effect on your life actually, if you think about it...and oh..well i just have so many songs like that, its hard to name them all..."Complicated" by Avril Lavigne always takes me back to my mid-teen years...."Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" by Brian Adams, reminds me of the movie Robin Hood and then of the time in my life when i was watching it.. i think basically almost every song ive ever heard will always bring back memories for me...

All the time. Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden reminds me of my boyfriend and I's first date. And that song Bitter Sweet Symphony by the Verve reminds me of penguins if I'm in a good mood or the movie Cruel Intentions.

dude that is so funny cuz whenever i hear old songs it makes me think of old memories and it alwasy makes me smile there is this song called karma from llyod banks and whenever i hear that i think of my ex boyfriend it makes me smile even tho were broken up, and then there going back by kenny chesney they played that as our graduation song and then there is that song called dont mess with my man by nivea when i hear that i remember going roller skating and we all thought we were so cool we were like 13 lol

That one Dido song, White Flag? Whenever I hear of it, I think of my aunt who passed away... Her daughter chose it for her funeral.
