Its hard. I had really bad anxiety attacks 2-3 times a day for 2 years. Here in the south, "its all in your head, there ain't nothing wrong with you." According to my family anyway. I went to the free counselor on campus, against my family's will. I found an older friend who was just getting over the same problem that I felt like I could talk to without being judged. And between the two of them, I got better, slowly. I still have an anxiety attack every once in a while, but nothing like they used to be.
And if anxiety attacks are your problem, here are the top 3 things that helped me:
1) Make lists and count things when you start feeling anxious. Its a little OCD, but it takes your mind off the things that are bothering you.
2) Keep a rubber band on your wrist. I used a ponytail holder. When you start getting nervous, pop it, over and over. It will also take your mind off of things.
3) When the first 2 don't work, ignore it. But you can't ignore things forever. So set aside a time, maybe everyday or every 3 days, when you can think about the things that are worrying you in an environment that you are comfortable with. It helps to think that maybe you can freak out in your room instead of in class.
You can do it!!!!

Im sorry you are having rough times. This may not be what you were expecting to hear, but you are loved, you are a child of the Most High God. Jesus did not put you on this earth to feel left alone. He is there with you. I know it may sound crazy, but if you just call on His name, you are saved ( if your not already ). You just pray, and He will guide you in the way to go. One thing I have learned, is that when you are in despair, you need the support of other people, sometimes your blood family cant do that, but people in the Lords family can. Find a Spirit filled church, one that likes to sing Christian rock or music that you like, and they lift up their hands in service.. Like Church of God or something like that. People care, you may ask for prayer for a job and someone will hear and tell you about one. Seek help from other christians, the Lord takes care of His. Ill pray for you.

Persistence and finding ways of coping with your anxiety. I have had anxiety for a long time now, and it has limited what I can do. Forcing myself to do some stuff as best as I can and finding coping skills, and ignoring others that dont accept anxiety or understand what it makes us do, has helped immensely.

Anxiety is based on fear that you cannot control. Take Charge. Create a compensating activity to conquer that anxiety.

There is no easy answer for this question.............hope and pray you or whoever has a GOOD support group...........You have to have that in order to stay on track with therapy. It won't go away by itself...........Medication for some is a good thing...........I know mine keeps me going . I'll put you out to my circle of e-mail buddies for a prayer circle. By the time it's goes around you'll have more people on your side than you ever thought possible.

practice makes perfect.... your point of view is all screwed up. I used to think that way too.... then, I ment new people, got some new pov's and after a while it just gets better. Your brain is lying to you... every time you get that way, have a logical conversation w/ yourself... is this really true? does this make since? and then tell yourself how it really is (positive)
