i mean with all the possible defects that it could probably have, being that they rushed making it to get it out in time for the holidays.

I would say so. I've read a lot of reports that they've been overheating. All of the game systems have problems on launch. The PS2 did, the XBox did, the XBox 360 did...I think the only company that works out all the kinks is Nintendo. Even they've had to recall the wrist straps on their Wii. I would wait 6 or 7 months before getting a PS3. That's what I'm doing. I bought one, then sold it on eBay. I don't want to deal with the early problems like I did with the first shipment of PS2.
EDIT: People keep saying that the price will go down, but I really doubt it. Historically, the price of a system doesn't go down until about 2 years after release. Look at the XBox 360. Still the same as it was a year ago. Same thing with the PS2. If you're going to wait for the price to drop on them, you'll be waiting a looong time.

you should not get it. it is way too expensive and plus there in the wii which is a ton better! go for the wii or wait a while until the price goes down. Sorry, i said what you probably didn't want to hear... :)

No. If you get it at the right price, get it. Why wait any longer. It wasn't rushed for Christmas at all. It was delayed 9 months from Q1 this year!!

I have one and i haven't notice any bugs. i use my PS3 to play PS3 games.. and havent touched my PS2 or my PS2 games yet/since.. only thing that bugs me is the audio output settings and the display... doesnt really automatically change to your "desired" or available settings..

wait...my friend got one...the price is high and the bugs and errors OMG!! i would wait after the bugs i saw....also for the price... they will fix the bugs and the price will be low in few months

i would wait for the 2nd version to come out. why be frustrated with all the glitches.
