Most people are ignorant and like to ignore the facts that the liberal media and politicitions like to bury. Like first off the scores of people, men WOMEN AND CHILDREN, he tortured and killed through various hideious fashions. Or maybe the the fact of YES he had WMDs and programs do develop such items. Don't beleive me? Don't worry! The Chief UN Weapon Inspector said in 2003 that he found traces of and had NO doubt that they had them and were developing more, just because they were flown to Syria in 2002 doesn't mean they weren't there at one point. And this bs of "We're not winning," well shoot the US didn't even have control of itself until 1783, 7 years AFTER the Declaration of Independace. Even then we were still strung up with turmoil. So why do you nay sayers think things happen overnight? One last thing, you also say that Iraqi people don't want us there, they don't want freedom/democracy, the 16 million people that came out to vote in their last election would beg to differ.

Little unknown fact is that about 3 dozen Islamic groups formally declared war against the US in 1979.

Yep I've been trying to tell them this stuff for a logn time. Here's something you need to add:

To those that think leaving Iraq will solve problems - Will they stop fighting each other if we leave? Infact, are we that selfish that our troops are soo much more important that to protect other's lives?

Will they stop hating us and Israel? No. Things don't go away. They escalate until something happens. Something in that region has got to be changed. Might as well start there. Stay the course.

And um for the last time - the Iraq war was not illegal. Pathetic reason to leave...

While any thinking person knows that the US can' just pull out at this point. It would take little time at all and that government would collapse. The problem is not should we get out now or later it is should we be their in the first place.

Following 9/11 this country had the hearts of the world with it....minus the Muslim world of course....and we at that time had a golden opportunity to lead the world against a common enemy. But the plan to take out Saddam had already been made...just an excuse to do it was needed.

So for the first time in our history we attached another country not because they attacked us or our interest but because an old score had to be settled. Therefore a coalition of the willing went to war. This president knew that the only way to be remembered or best remembered was to be a war president. Finding and fighting terrorist would not count so here we are.

No question that a new government takes time to form. The big problem here is you have so many factions that want to lead that are not willing to compromise because of past transgressions. To stay the course will only continue a government that is totally ineffective and continue to rely heavily on the US support for there security.

So what constitutes winning? A government that has control of it's own security. We have seen the mess that is the result of the loss of security forces. Coalition and the IRAQ people pay this price every day with their lives until this is fixed.

So if we do not provide pressure where we can...begin to talk to all countries in the region and bring about a government that includes all the people…what is happing now will continue.

It is true for us to just up and leave would be disastrous. But without talking and bringing about a government that can protect it's people we will be there for a very long time. And what have we accomplished in doing this. Our focus has been IRAQ. Behind the scene terrorism is being fought but not nearly as well as it could have been had we not jumped into IRAQ.

I agree with you -- a bit. Saddam was an evil dictator. But if that is our reasoning for invading Iraq, sadly enough, as evil as he was, there are even worse and evil dictators out there (Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea come to mind), and if that is our criteria for invasion, then America doesn't have the resources to be invading all of these countries.

Speaking of WMD, I agree in the 90's they did have them because our country was the one that actually provided them with WMD. One comedian I saw on TV said,"We know they had WMD because we had the receipts!" so it's kind of ironic we would sell them the WMD's and then invade them for having them. But from what I've read during the long period between the sales of the WMDs and our invasion, the chemicals such as anthrax and others degrade and were no longer usable. Oops! And of course, Hussein couldn't announce, "Hey, everyone, I'm basically defenseless here!" Yes, they were there at one point, when Iraq was our ally, then they degraded and weren't usable.

Well, I think the fact that Iraqis are risking their lives and dying every day in combat with Americans probably proves the fact that they do not want us in their country. That has nothing to do with their voting; I think in most countries, people want the right to vote, but that doesn't mean they want us in their country. I've seen several news shows where Iraqis expressed hatred of Americans & it didn't seem like acting to me.

I actually hope they follow this http://planforiraq.com/ which is calling for most of the troops to be withdrawn by 2007 and detailed plans for a settlement. I don't see following Bush's plan (is there actually an organized Bush plan?) since it seems to be doing more of the same which hasn't been working. Why keep doing something that's not effective?

... I've never seen anything to back up your WMD statements...

why didn't Bush just say that... if that's where the WMD were?

is he part of the liberal conspiracy?

and there are many that have killed many... and most of Saddams seem to have been in the early 90s... lot of help this does them?

but I do think that freedom is a good thing... but there are many nations that need to be free... especially in Africa? I guess no one cares about that?

I agree my friend. The American population is addicted to quick fixes. After all our generation was raised on video games where with a click of the button you are an NBA champion or you saved teh world from Nazi tyranny.

The truth is the US needs to establish bases of operations in the middle east. We are in a 30 year war here much like the cold war with Russia. This problem will not go away. And unlike the media likes to say, Bush did not create this problem. He simply opened the box before it exploded on its own.

Hang in my fellow country men and prepare for a long one. We will win though, b/c we are fair and we love our freedom. Unfortunately it will probably take severla more terrorist attacks before the coach patatoes wake up.

God Bless.
