I am not a frequent movie watcher, but sometime ago i saw this movie called "spirited away" and it quickly became my favorite. THe movie carried me off to a world filled with the most abstract spawn of my imagination and pervaded my spirit so that i continued to revel about it long after it was finished. I know there must be HEAVY symbolism in it and i've caught some of it. But i would like to know what others think is symbolic.

i like the movie too...
they're meant to be a paradigm
of our inner hopes & dreams,
the other people's souls that
has gone through many transformations,
& the loneliness(the black ghost) that
keeps us company wherever we go.

eventually reality will keep us back to earth,
where you can really make a difference.

I think u r right. Perhaps it's trying to convey to not delve into things if we donot know what we are doing? or to not to cross unknown boundaries?
funnily enough, I don't watch that many movies & I really liked this movie.
