north american union?

Question

how many of you think a north american union would be a good idea? in the long run i think it might, but only if Mexico could come closer to the standards of the US and Canada. in the short run it would be disastrous because of the incompatability with Mexico. after reading about america's "$50 trillion" debt, i think a union would be good for the interests of all three. what do mexicans think of a unified north america? btw, i ask these questions on the assumption that America has a border and that it is a sovereign nation. we all know this is not true, but it is still a ways away from being in a north american union.

It would only work if Mexico could get its infrastructure and economy on par with the rest of North America, so until that day(which is a long way away) it is not feasible, but I like the idea.

You know, alot of contemporary citizens displayed little conifidence in Polks decision to broaden American boundaries to incorporate the untamed west into the greater Union. He was a visionary, however, and not easily discouraged. Few today would question his wisdom, despite the fact that it was not so evident at the time.

I have no reservation in extending an invitation to Canada although I have my doubts about incorporating Mexico - Either way you look at it, however, it is a gamble. Only time will be able to say really.

I hope not ,the Canadian gov has plans to have our debt Paid off by 2015,the yanks have no plan and one day china,s going to come knocken or France or who was stupid enough to keep signing those checks.
