How come children listen to the rap music?

(C)rap music is one of the most popular forms of music now. Most teens that listen to it do so because they want to be considered "normal", most kids that listen to it do so because they want to look older and be like their older relatives and/or friends, and most people in their 20s and (sometimes) 30s that listen to it do so because they want to seem young and still in style. It also depends on where you live and/or go to school. (Some schools are full of people that love it, while others are more into "emo" music, etc.) I'm a teen, and I personally can't stand rap even though a lot of people at my school love it. (Or pretend to love it.)

because a lot of us(not me), want to listen to something that has cussing, sex, drugs, pimps, whores, etc. in it. sad, isn't it? a lot of children are just ignorant. not all of course. also, a lot of us think it's cool. but you're right, it does cause brain damage. I mean, isn't that one of the reasons a majority of people speak incorrect english. it's amazing how many people talk like they're some kind of rap artist. then again, you do have SOME rap music that is positive.......but that is so very very rare. oh yea! lol, forgot one other reason: It's great music to dance to! lol, great question by the way!!

Because rap is the very "in" thing right now. In the past, we would have never thought children would listen to this type of music, but the world has become more open and tolerant to diff types of lifestyles as well as music.

an identical question became asked the different day approximately letting your babies hear to Soldja Boy. i became the only confirm on there who appeared to have a project with it, which in simple terms reiterates what I already theory approximately why sons and daughters are cussing and disrespecting. i admire multiple rap song, yet in simple terms hear to it whilst i'm on my own. I dont want my babies listening to a guy say, "Lick it like a lollipop" "Superman dat hoe" or something a pair of sses shaking etc. i think of mothers and fathers who do should not be shocked whilst their newborn says a vulgarity whilst they dont pay interest to what they enable their babies hear. ** there is vulgarity in different varieties of song too, even nonetheless it particularly is principally rap that has the grimy sexual comments and degrading females... so i will see why you are able to ask this.

well...i believe they listen to it because rap music has a meaning to it. Profanity has just become a part of it. But most rappers rap about tough situations that some of these teens might be going through.

You know.. children..not only children but people are very influenced with the mdeia nowadays they listen to whatever that little box called the TV tells them to do and admire them.. dosent matter whats on it Music/Media/Sports.. children are easily influenced by TV therefore Idols come in the matter I mean seriously taking in fact people like Hulk Hogan look what TV did to him?

Rap music is all about "Booty" Shaking, Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, Guns and Swearing thats just my opinion.. no offence to rap fans..your offended sorry..

On the other hand Rock music leads to metal/heavy metal leading to goth rock and Deathmetal and punk it still teaches that theres no god, **** everything in life etc. etc. To aid my words with an example we have good ol' Marilyn Manson..

I like rock music, I think Rap is crap, but still im not easily influenced by TV, controlling what your child watches solves your soloution.. might lead to porno in the end if not controlled.

most black people don't want to be caught listening to rock music. they'd be called gay. Well me, i'm different! rock is cool. i will listen to it anywhere. I don't care too much about hip hop, that's why i'm not very cool to my peers.

P.S did you know that listening to Mozart music turns on a part of your brain that isn't always used?

I agree. most children at some daycares i've been too don't know their abc's but you put on a rap song and they know word for word. I think the parents play a part in that.
