state (without predjudice) if cigars are as harmful as cigarettes ???
I smoked cigarettes from about the age of 17years then for NO apparent reason I stopped my 15-20 a day habit at the age of 50 and didn't smoke for 3 years then took to smoking cigars. Although I really enjoy them I find I can take 'em or leave 'em at the age of 82.
Ha! Ha! I find the price more crippling than the smoke.

As far as I am aware cigars are considered less harmful, last time I took life insurance out they were not bothered if I smoked cigars only if I smoked cigarettes, I think the theory is that a lot of people dont inhale cigar moke they just puff on them

As a smoker I'd say my 15-20 a day habit is more harmful. The cigars are rolled tobacco leaves and dont have as many chemicals added as manufactured Cigarettes.
The 'Take em or leave them' should be up to you! I'd say enjoy anything in your life and dont be pushed into giving anything up for the sake of your health, bit late to worry about it really.

Hi i think they are both the same as they are still chemicals you are inhailing in to your lungs and what not. They still have the same warnings on them as cigarettes do. Anyways, considering you smoke and you got to the age of 82 with no problems, good on ya. Some people dont even make it to your age, thats without smoking so , i say have a nice christmas and party.

I think if people smoked as many cigars as they did cigarettes they'd probably be worse because they're bigger and more tobacco but usually cigars aren't smoked nearly as often as cigarettes.

So I would guess that people who smoke cigars have a lower incidence of lung cancer but still much higher than nonsmokers.

Since you are 82 , and in risk age, cigars contians more nicotine than cigarettes I as a MD will advise you to immediately give up cigar smoking as it bad for you and members of your family who are passive smokers and they are more at risk.

Cigars are as dangerious in a different way. Rather than lung cancer they encourage mouth and jaw cancer.

Look man, at 82 you might as well live it up! Eat salt, butter, drink, smoke, unbuckle your seat belt and live it up!
