Go to your nearest leather furniture store and buy a bottle of their stain remover. If that doesn't work try the following as leather is just too easily damaged.
Try a little saddle soap or another leather cleaner, but first read the label regarding its safety for use on your particular kind of leather. You may also try removing the stain with lukewarm water and shampoo. Contact the manufacturer for a remedy for the type of ink used - the company may sell its own solvent.

This really depends on what type of leather it is.
If it is on a pigmented leather then the first thing you should try is an ink stick. The fresher the ink the more chance you have of removing it. It is a good idea to have one in your house if you have a pale leather and children!!!!
You should also be using a good quality leather protector on a pale suite. This will act like a 'scotchgard' and will make any more mishaps easier to clean off.
If an ink stick doesn't work a solvent based remover will need to be used and it may also remove finish and pigment so is best left to the experts.
Hairspray sometimes works but can also make the matter far worse as it can spread the ink over a bigger area. Nail varnish remover or any other solvents will remove the finish and pigment which will need replacing.
DO NOT USE Baby wipes as theyare about the worst thing you can use on a leather sofa as they break down the finish and will eventually ruin your suite.
If the ink is on an aniline style, there is nothing that will remove it because the ink will have re-dyed the leather. It may dissipate over time with cleaning and protecting.
Old ink will be harder to remove than new ink and may mean resorting to solvents which will also remove the finish. This is probably best left to the experts.
Silicones are the worst thing to use as they will form a coating on the surface of the leather which will not allow any moisture to get to the leather and will eventually break all the finish down and make it crack. Leather needs water and should not be protected against it.

Hi, I have seen this done and it works. Spray a SMALL AMOUNT of hairspray on the offending mark, then GENTLY, in small circular movements, press on the mark and it will come off. Use a white cloth you can see the results better. Repeat this until the biro is removed.
Then use some Saddle Soap, wipe a small amount onto a white cloth, then again in small circular movements, rub the saddle soap into your lounge, then buff with another clean cloth. This will feed the leather on your lounge and at the same time, clean the lounge (if it needs cleaning). Hope this helps :-)

Oh wow, been there-TWICE, lol! (wasn't laughing at the time though) Permy pen is a nail varnish remover job I'm afraid, use cotton buds to minimise the wipe area (and you'll need to give the area a serious conditioning afterwards) but biro can be removed with a toothbrush, gentle scrubbing and a good leather cleaner (you can get that from most supermarkets or sofa retailers). Good luck!

Have had this problem and was told to spray a little hairspray on the stain and rub of with a damp cloth - worked perfectly. You will need to condition the leather afterwards. Good luck

Baby wipes really do work. I use them to clean my leather purses. They're gentle and it should come out w/o lightening the spot that's been clean. Or you can buy some car leather cleaner, I use Miguriers(spelling) to clean my leather seats in my SUV. Merry Xmas, Nina J

It sounds a bit bizarre, but trust me on this one !
Spray the stain with body spray / deodorant, then wipe with a dry cloth. Has to be dry. It should come away. The alcohol in the spray will help remove the ink.
