are you kidding with that question??? i have lived in a flesh house for 5 year now! =)
I guess its because you take the original gingerbread mold and can make different shapes with it. I hope that helped.

Baba Yaga lived in a house made from human bones and it walked around on giant chicken legs.
Kurtz also had skulls on his fenceposts. (I sooooo hated Heart of Darkness. Apocalypse Now sucked, too.)
But they're not very, um, savory characters. Unlike gingerbread people, which are savory indeed.
