that current Democratic Party Senator Robert Byrd of West Virginia was a former member of the Ku Klux Klan?

I keep getting told by today's Democrats that this is bull. Maybe they should read his own memoirs in which he discusses his membership in the Klan and that he quit shortly before running for public office.

Sorry, Dems. This is a fact that Byrd himself will acknowledge. Your party is the only one that continuously re-elects a former (and current non-dues paying) member of the KKK.

That is true but you fail to mention that his voting record has been pro-civil rights for the past 20 years... actions speak louder than words. You also fail to mention Thurmon that the R party kept in office until the day he retired was the opposite. He was a racist that voted racist.

Thurmon also had a baby by a black woman and after dna test proved it, he refused to recognize it.

So, if you are tyring to make some pt about hypocrisy, you should look in the mirror.

"Current non-dues paying" member? You're a laugh riot. Ronald Reagan is also a current non-dues paying member of the actors' guild.

Did YOU know that Byrd said "I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times . . . and I don't mind apologizing over and over again. I can't erase what happened."

He's probably Man of the Year over at the Klan headquarters, ay?

Dig deeper.

How many were actual members of the Communist party?

How many are self-professed Socialists?

How many spat on American soldiers returning from Viet Nam?

What you do not understand is that it is alright to to something wrong if you are a Democrat. If he was a Republican there would be a public outrage.
