No he is not retiring until after 08
He is going to face Batista and lose a Wrestlmania (Vince already approved the match and creative writing are already making plans for it)
Kane is going to retire though next month(January) he has already confirmed that in an interview

there hasnt been an official word on if he isnt or not. however, a while back, both kane and undertaker did an interview in which they both said that they would like to team up one more time before one of them retires. so with both of them on smackdown now, i can only assume one of them is retiring. also, taker's schedule hasnt been as hectic since WMXX (Wrestlemania 20). if you remember correctly, after he lost the Buried Alive Match, he was hardly seen. He doesn't do that many matches, and the ones he does, hes usually jobbing to someone. so my guess is that yes, undertaker is retiring, just not sure when.

The rumors of the Undetaker retiring are currently false. His contract expires in the summer of '08. His exclusive contract does make it easier on him as he is listed as part time talent and is only obligated to work x amount of days, including major PPV's.

From what i heard he is going to retire at or after Wrestlemania. That's also the same thing for Kane.
