i do not know but do you think that the United Nations would recognize us now if we revived a CSA governmental structure.... could you just imagine how the Soviets, Chinese, Middle Eastern countries and others around the world would react to that thought .....they could adopt resolutions to insure that the US federal government did not have the right to enforce their view points on its entire population and that the war of northern aggression can be settled more adequately now

it was not as much about slavery as you think.... but states rights...

they have even found letters indicating that the north would not have repealed slavery if it preserved the union

STATE'S RIGHTS = the right for people to live, act, and be different with a group of like minded people without the rest of the country enforcing their opinions of life upon everyone else.... more freedom not less.... slavery was just the cover to hide that truth

They were an independent country. They needed laws, a Constitution to base them on, etc.
