I don't drink either and I have a BLAST watching all the people act like IDIOTS! And it's NEVER awkward for me, most people don't care whether I am drinking or not, they are more concerned about themselves. Just be yourself and go meet your old friend and have fun. No need to drink!
Good Luck!

If you like that sort of thing. I think drunk people are rather annoying...especially if I am not drinking anything to take the edge off.
I say, go to the party anyway and determine for yourself. If they are people who are socially drinking and not getting overly drunk, you may not notice to much of a difference. If it is that type of party, then you know not to go back the next time.
Also, you probably won't be the only sober person there...link up with the other one or two and make fun of all the drunk folks.
TAKE CAB MONEY...Don't get in a car with a drunk driver...use your gut and if you really feel like someone should not be driving home...try and stop them or after they leave go somewhere alone and call the police. You don't want any tragedy occuring nor weighing you down because you know you could have prevented it. SORRY if no one likes that part of my answer, but some moral decisions seem so much easier to make after a tragedy occurs. DWI tickets go to traffic court and go away and may save the lives of countless people. DWI tragedies go to traffic court and don't go away...ever.

Yes, I believe it is.watching all he drinkers who down to much make fools of themselves and the antics that they get into and how they act. It can be quite funny and at the same time, sobering, pardon the pun, in knowing you could be doing some of it to your own embaressment. If you must, pretend you are drinking say coke and rye, but only have coke in the glass instead.Stay the way you are, believe me, and you will be the better for it.

It depends on your personality. Some people have anatural high and they can have fun and be fun without getting drunk. Other people are shy and, reserved and may even get offended with drunk people's jokes and in that case, yes it may be quite akward. You should just be yourself, if you don't drink, your friends have to respect that and if they really respect you, then they'll appreciate your company whether you're sober or not.

i would not be awkward if their was other people at your friends party who drink. i would not be drinking just because it is there and i would not let people entice me into doing it. You can still be partying and having fun without drinking. My auntie goes to parties and she does not drink when people have it. Your friend should have to respect your decision.

You can watch the crazy stuff people do when drunk. Just don't let anyone drive home when they are drunk or even have had a few drinks and dont get into a car with anyone who has drank.

It can actually be quite fun watching all the drunk people, plus when half of them can't remember what when on you get to be the one to tell them all the things they did. Just go and remember you don't have to drink to have fun.

Yes you can have fun. Actually, it can be kind of funny watching the stupid things they say and do. Also it will make you even more glad that you DON'T drink.

no. well not in my case. i have some friends who drink and the whole time we were together one time, drinking was the main activity. it would have been different if we were doing stuff while they were drinking, but they weren't. i really don't think so.
