I can't believe he's never won one when crap directors like Sophia Copola win ones!

He better! If he does, I hope he gets up there and says, "It's about f*cking time!"

I guess the only justice is that 100 years from now Scorsese's movies will still be watched, but Sophia's will not.

Whoever said it's a ripoff is an idiot. The oscar would be for 'Best Director', thus making the plot (ripoff or not) a largely (but not entirely) insignificant factor. Besides, Scorsese never even saw the original. This film is incredible, whether it is a copy or not, and I do hope it wins an Oscar. And yes, I've seen the entire Infernal Affairs trilogy, and people should bless the fact that such great plot concepts are coming into western cinema from the east. It's not like it replaces the Infernal Affairs film, but rather stands beside it.

If the Academy knows what's good for them he better win it. The Departed was the best movie of the year. The acting it was mind-blowing and the directing was amazing. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson better get oscars as well.
