I spent 17 years as a stay at home mom. Now getting divorced from a successful businessman who is letting everything fail so he won't have anything he'll be forced to share with me once the divorce is final. I can't prolong the divorce any further waiting on him to produce records of his business. I need to provide a home for my 3 children. I'm lucky to have found a good job with room for growth. An assistance program would really help supplement my limited starting salary.

Oh, he will have to pay child support regardless of the financial reports of his business. You can have the business tax records pulled that's enough and all you really need. It will at least tell you what he made the previous year or years. The only thing I can think of is public assistance. That might help with food and you can also check with other help agencies to see what's available. I don't know other than getting a second job like one of those business at homes jobs that are always advertised on TV and the computer.

a) A lawyer can help you get the records or else he will be held in contempt.
b) Any escrow agent will work w/ you to get d.p. assistance or into a 0% down arrangement.
God's speed. I'm sorry about all of your pain.
