in football, it is to identify the player, because you can't usually see the faces of the players, or read their name on the back of the jersey.
in the NFL the number also identify player positions
QBs and kickers (including punters) wear 1-19
Running backs (halfback and Fullback) and Defensive backs wear 20-49
Linebackers wear from 50-59 or 90-99
Offensive linemen wear 50-79
Defensive linemen wear 60-79 or 90-99
Recivers (WR and TEs) wear 80-89 but ever since a year or so ago they could wear 10-19 too

It used to be that they were numbered from the back line, the goalkeeper was 1 then the backs 2 and 3 and so on up to the forward line. So 10 would have been either inside right or left.

In the pro's, the league actually has rules about which positions can wear which numbers. QB's have to be under 20. RB's are 20-4something. WR's are 80's. TE's are 80's. OL's are 50-79. DL are 90's (I think.) LB's are 50's. DB's (again, I think) are 20-49ish.

The facial hair removal includes the hair on the chin, on the jaw bone and on the upper lip. Some women have tiny and thin hair growing on their upper lip like a mustache. When it comes to men, there are programs for hair removal for men.
