There's nothing that you can do to make it come faster. Sorry if you think that this is unhelpful, but it is the truth. I don't know who told you that exercise makes you start your period sooner, but being athletic can actually cause you to start later in life. Enjoy the time that you have now, because when you finally start, you'll wish that you hadn't. Everyone's body matures differently. You'll start eventually, you just have to be patient.

First off, I just wanted to tell you that you have my favorite name for a girl. Ok, on to your question, I think that working out would make it not come as fast. Alot of athletic girls get their periods later. I'm not sure why that is, but I think it might have something to do with the % of body fat. If I were you, I'd ask my mom when she started her period. That can sometimes be a good indicator of when you might start yours. Also, talk to any cousins, aunts, grandmothers you might have... especially if they also have scoliosis. This might give you an idea of when you should get it. The main thing is, try not to stress out about it because stress can be a factor in prolonging / preventing the onset of a menstrual cycle.
GOOD LUCK!

I am sorry about your condition.
The best you can do is see a gyneocologist about this problem. It seems as though you need a professional. I understand some people get it very late but most people get it latest by the time they are fifteen. That is why you must see a doc
***BTW ALL PEOPLE WHO SEE A POSTING MY "MAN" WHICH IS ****** DON'T CLICK ON IT AND REPORT ABUSE. THIS REPETITIVE POSTING MUST STOP. IT HAS BECOME IRRITATING AND I WONDER WHAT HE IS TRYNG TO DO.
PEOPLE REPORT REALLI CRAPPY THINGS ON THIS SITE. WHY CAN'T THEY READ THE DETAILS BEFORE RESPONDING. THIS GIRL "NEEDS" TO GET HER PERIOD TO REMOVE HER BRACE.
sorry sweetie that the world is stupid. but it is true that excercising too much can cause ur period to not come or dissappear. If you have a decent weight then u will get it. make sure you aren't undderweight. eat healthy and don't sweat it.
i hope everything works out for you

Hi! This is a big deal at your age! Don't feel bad about asking. There is a biological clock in your brain that will be able to tell when it is time for you to become a fertile, menstruating young woman, and there isn't much you can do to change it! BUT if you are very thin, you might try to eat extra ice cream and put on some FAT. SERIOUSLY! Body fat is one of the ways the brain knows you are ready to be fertile - that's why girls who exercise or diet TOO MUCH, lose their periods. Their bodies know they don't have enough good fat to be fertile. So really, time, and maybe a little padding, are what you need. HANG IN THERE!!!!! It will happen. (And here's a bonus - girls who start their periods LATE have less change of getting breast cancer later on in life!!! That's GOOD news!)

I can imagine not wanting to wear your brace anymore, but you don't want to rush things and have your back not heal properly, right?
I wasn't aware that there was anything a girl could do to MAKE her body begin her period. I've never heard that bit about working out...don't understand how that would help.
You'll usually get some warning signs: breast development, pubic hair, etc. If you've already seen these signs, it really shouldn't be long before you get your period and get to lose that brace.
What did your doctor say?

Well, like everyone else said, excercise will actually prolong this agonizing time. Stress will do the same thing to you so just enjoy the time you have. Just remember that the longer you wear the brace, the better things will be in the long run.
I bet every woman that came in here and read your question was pretty dang jealous! Oh what I wouldn't give to be mense free..... And I was 16 before mine came and I've hated it ever since !!!

il give you one piece of advice. If you are worried or stressed it will delay ur period, so relax! It'll sound daft but when you're waiting for something it never comes, so take your mind off it and you never know! My 1st period started when I was at the cinema with a friend it was like some1 had turned on a fst running blood tap and it wasnt pretty, and there was a lot of blood so be prepared, coz you're first time is usually heavy. Im sure it'll come pretty soon, and you'l be happy about getting rid of you're brace, but you'll wish you never had startd ur period believe me!!

Doctor should have explain to you that you need certain amount of fat to start and sustain ovulation next time you see your doctor mention this and ask for explanation, if it is a dental Brace do not ask dentist this Q?. Go see a Gynaecologist.
Or give some time, we are all individuals and time of the period is one of the characteristics of the individuality.
Read up on this topic of "Fat and period by minootoo".
I put this in the "Search for questions:"; block and got 99 references by me. So time permitting read about it first.
