My two cents: Certainly one can´t compare these two from one to another. This is the question of intellectual. No matter, who has more Fans in the world. It doesn´t really matter !

In the subjects of analytic and intellectual, Holmes seems to be have more a precise, a realistical result and a correctness in his works. He has a more logical thought or sense than another one. Holmes has a coolness attitude, by solving the various crime matters with his calm mind. Moreover Holmes is behaving less emotional, while another one is acting more aggressively and is always running amok.

Come on its the same to ask the difference between ant and elephant.

James Bond is just a simple spy. hes nothing without his super high tech toys and his 9mm(and of course his British charm), but when we're talking about Sherlock Holmes we're talkin about a genius. Sherlock Holmes could crack any case just using his brain. Holmes is a true master of his business and James is just feick super herro

no, you're right you can't compare the two. Bond is an agent and is assigned jobs, whilst Holmes is a detective that is expected to solve mysteries, not kill the bad guy. Bond doesn't need brains, just the right tools and a clear shot at the baddie. You most definitely cannot say that Holmes does the same... just my two cents too

Apples and oranges, Watson--

Bond, whatever his mission, remains himself, ie, an agent of a higher authority, trained to respond intuitively to whatever situation he finds himself in. Bond's performance is also affected by his attraction to women, either positively or negatively.

Holmes, a consulting detective, relies less on intuition than on logical study, observation and inductive reasoning. Obversely, Holmes has a weakness for play-acting, dress-up and the thatrical gesture, which for Bond would be fatal. Holmes also, with only one known exception, is a bit of a cold fish where women are concerned.
Let us appreciate them for their creators' abilities to entertain us.

Sherlock uses his mind more than violence, so yes, he is cooler than Bond.
