Get something that brings back memories or inside jokes because wants come and go but memories last. For my brother I got him wooden spoons, a locker and antibacterial hand soap. Walmart has some gift packages. Also this site has some really good ideas: http://www.gifts.com/

No gift cards! Presents take thought, and I hate it when my husband buys me gift cards, no matter where they come from (department stores, spa's, etc.) I also hate the "let's get the wife lotion, perfume, and jewelry thing." Thats the easy way out.

If you have children, suprise her when she comes home one day by having the children at a babysitter. Tell her to get ready then take her out to dinner and a movie.

If you don't have children, is there anything she needs? Has she been eyeing some pots and pans? A new blender? A new sweater or suit for work? I love pratical things, things that I can use and things I need. I have about 10 bottles of perfume right now, and a whole bunch of lotion. If my husband got me anymore I would kill him! Lotion and perfume is something I expect from my friends, not my husband.

Go shopping with her, stay by her side (or close by) and watch the things that she looks at. Pay attention to what she says she needs or the house needs. Maybe she was looking at some new curtains or a comforter at the department store? Go through a Macy's, Penney's catalog with her and tell her you are looking for something for your sister or mother. You would be surprised to see how many things she will look at for herself!

Jewelry is also a no-no, it is the easy way out. Unless you wife absolutely loves jewelry, then don't get her any. How hard is it to pick out a pretty diamond? Not hard at all. Unless you plan on updating your vows to her (ie, by making a statement on Christmas morning, or by putting it in a card) then I wouldn't do jewelry. My jewelry ends up sitting on the dresser un-used.

Basically give it some thought, be unique, and don't take the easy way out! Combine your efforts for items that she uses at the house and at work, along with the things that she enjoys (such as reading, taking baths, or drinking coffee).

If she loves taking baths, have a bath ready for her when she gets home one day before Christmas with some candles. Put a book next to the tub and some coffee. Make her coffee every morning, or buy a coffee pot that can be set at a certain time. There are little things that you can do or buy that will make her Christmas special, and buying gift cards or jewelry is not the answer!

Christmas presents for wives? How many wives do you have? :)

Did you ask or get a wish list?

Some suggestions: 1) bath and shower projects from Bath and Body Works
2) Perfume or cologne
3) Slippers
4) Comfy bathrobe
5) CDs
6) DVDs
7) Chocolate
8) Jewelry- pendants are nice (heart pendants)
9) Gift cards
10) Books

Be sure to wrap them or put them in a nice gift bag. Do the "Whole 9 Yards."

I love a gift certificate to the day spa but frankly the best thing my husband could give me is his time. So if it were me, I'd arrange for a weekend getaway to a lovely chalet or bed n breakfast where you can take long walks, sleigh rides and lounge in front of the fireplace listening to soft music watching the snow fall. That'd be heaven to me.

A gift certificate for a day at the spa. Hiring a cleaning service to come in every 2 weeks for a year so that she can spend more time with you.

Hope you both have a merry merry.

Hi:

Examine what is in her heart. If she is a creative type, you might know what she like to do and be able to get a gift that will suit - probably a craft related item. Above all, if she is artistic or creative, encourage that in her - that's the best gift of all. Hope this helps.

Women love purses, wallets, and accessories. Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to pick out what exactly your wife would like, but if you have an idea (you could look at her current purses), buy one and give her a gift receipt to return it if she doesn't like it. I don't know any women who wouldn't love a Coach bag!

A day at a spa; to be pampered and waited on. I know that I would love to have a gift like that; at least once.
