being a professional salesman or saleswoman is an honorable profession..but not all sales people are honorable, therein lies a problem of trust from would be customers.. to answer your question.. A marketing concept is generated by a marketing plan.. if the marketing plan requires direct sales then sales personell must be a part of the marketing process.. the selling process is a matter of creating a physical contact between the seller and the buyer.. this process is mass merchandising such as a department store,-.. it requires no sales reps or selling.. basically the buyer sells themselves..like buying corn.. you pick the kind you want.. the sales rep approach is for someone to take the product to the consumer directly.. regardless of the way it is done.. a marketing plan is a must.. it leads you in the right direction..
