I think independence means much more than living outside of your parents house...it encompasses all areas in your life such as being "independant" in your way of thinking and your actions and not succumbing to the pressures of society/peers; being able to support yourself financial; being able to feel emotional secure with yourself; relying on yourself and no one else; and the list goes on. What is your opinion or definition of this word?

To me being independant is something new every day. Being able to accomplish what needs to be done. Having the right to make choices for myself. Being able to say no. Sorry guys, but being able to get what I need and not be afraid to go get it without having a man do it for me or have to count on a man or I cannot make it. Being independant is being able to stand up for what I believe is right and not worry about it. Being independant is being able to leave my house and know today is going to be a good day because I am going to do everything I can to make it that way for me.
