Wet and dry seasons
Precipitation is characterized by dry and wet seasons. The period of November through April receives abundant sunshine and slightly less than 25 percent of the annual rainfall. This rainfall usually occurs in advance of cold fronts in a few heavy or light showers. May through October is normally the wet season, receiving approximately 53 percent of the yearly total in numerous showers and thunderstorms. Rain falls on most days of the wet season. Early morning is the favored time for these showers, which is different from mainland Florida, where showers and thunderstorms usually occur in the afternoon. Easterly (tropical) waves during this season occasionally bring excessive rainfall, while infrequent hurricanes may be accompanied by unusually heavy amounts. Key West is the most likely U.S. settlement to be hit by a hurricane. Humidity remains high during the entire year.

Humidity? There aren't too many places in the world that are more humid than Key West! In the summer, humidity levels run about 90%, it rains every day (not all day; just showers), and hurricanes are a problem. In the winter, it's very pleasant, as the humidity and temperatures are much less extreme. Hurricane season is from May 1 through November 30.
Key West is about 4 hours from Miami if you are driving, so evacuation from an imminent hurricane can be harrowing.
My recommendation is to live there during the winter, but find somewhere else to go in the summer!

I would assume that because Key West is by the ocean, there will be humidity.
A lot of people retire to Arizona because the humidity is nonexistant. The summers are a bit rough, but they are dry...so you don't necessarily feel it as bad. Also, cost of living is pretty low there. Tucson is great, I would recommend Oro Valley or somewhere similar. Phoenix is okay too, but Tucson is a bit cheaper to live in. The foothills are really nice.

particular, i comprehend a number of senior alcoholics. i'm a cashier interior the save the place they purchase their beer and wine. i think there are some who start up ingesting extra of their senior years, yet in view that I paintings in a small community the place anybody knows anybody, i comprehend maximum of those consumers have been ingesting for some years. while somebody buys booze popular, they are not making use of all of it to prepare dinner with. there's a substantial exchange in demeanor between the time those human beings are available in for their morning newspaper and while they return six or 8 hours later to purchase beer or wine. i think of older human beings tend to be extra secretive approximately their ingesting. they're going to bypass from save to save so no one will observe how lots booze they purchase. that doesn't extremely paintings in small cities. It probably does not paintings properly everywhere, because of the fact cashiers get very stable at analyzing human beings over the years. I could probably be conscious that I see comparable behaviors in older people who purchase daily scratcher and lottery tickets. I surely have consumers who purchase their weekly ability ball tickets...it extremely is exciting. yet while human beings start up spending $20 to $50 an afternoon or extra on that stuff, some thing is incorrect. i've got found out that senior alcohol and playing addictions are ordinary...extra ordinary than I ever found out. i've got not had own journey with seniors hooked on prescribed drugs, even though it does not marvel me if the numbers are intense.
