I love Tilex soap scum remover spray. You can get it from the Family Dollar store for 2.50. I use it every time I get out of the tub/shower to prevent build up. What I would do is use your shower head to wet the shower door and tub, spray the Tilex soap scum-I like to use the foam side then wait a few minutes and wipe it with either a WET-Mr.Clean magic eraser or sponge(since you have build up I would use the magic eraser) and wipe the tub down. You may have to spray a little more but the magic eraser should do the trick. Then rinse and your bathroom will smell nice and your tub will be clean. If you use the Tilex after each use of the tub it will help prevent the build up. Merry Xmas, Nina J

I have read the other responses and understand the products you have used to try to solve the problem.

I'm just starting to wonder...if this has been a chronic problem, the glass may be etched (permanently scratched in all directions) from the use of all the harsh products. If this is the case, it will never look new again, no matter what you do to it.

I had to laugh when I read "soup stain" because all I could envision was little pasta letters encrusted on glass.

If your problem really is hard water deposits and the door is not etched as suggested by another answer, the I would suggest using a descaler. Take the door down and lay it flat. Put the product on, usually takes between 15-30 min. Clean it off. That simple. Here's a website for one called dezcal http://www.urnex.com/dezcalretailpack.htm

Clorox bleach ALWAYS works for my bathroom. It's not expensive either. Only about 3 dollars a bottle.

My little handy-dandy booklet says use vinegar.
Kinda strong smelling but might do the job. By the way do you also cook in the shower?
