there are two connections for dryers. Three prong and for prong and it's not new. Just buy the other one it's been like that for years. You had a clerk that didn't know caa caa

The new dryers have four prong cords. in the U.S. It is the two hot legs, the ground and the common wires. You can still buy three prong cords for dryers.

That's been around for a while now, they have a "ground" and a "neutral" now. All you're going to have to do is change the receptacle if you can't find a 3 prong cord. If you don't know how to do it, then call an electrician, it'll take him about 5 minutes to do it. Best of luck to you.

yup the other guys are correct.. except for man. the new code calls for a ground.. that's why the fourth prong. I would just try and find the 3-prong.. there still out there (hd, lowes etc)

differant types of cords for differant appliances and types...simply go back and ask for the 3-prong 3 amp cord for dryers...they sell all types...and 30 amp cords are all for dryers...

I have never heard of a four prong cord.. Do NOT get a four pronged cord.. It may be something that is new in Europe but not in the U.S.
