I think you will find your answer by considering
which car gets the most at a premium auction...

- 1969 Camaro Z/28 ($68,000 - $221,000)
- 1970 Chevelle SS454 ($38,800 hardtop)
- 1970 Chevelle SS454 ($135,000 convertible)

How did the z have the biggest production engine with a 302? You mean the Chevelle with the LS6 454, I think..

The Z28 has a more lasting effect-as the idea of a corner carving Ponycar endured the blasse 70s-and endured until 2002.

Also, I have spoken with previous Z28 owners over the years and the consensus is that a 302 with 4:88 gears, good fourtube headers, slapper bars, and slicks( maybe a double pumper in place of the stock 3310 780 cfm vac sec carb) was in the high 12s with a good driver.
Both cars won stock drag championships:
Z28 in 1968
LS6 in 1970.
Tough call, the LS6 gets the nod, though for being the baddest stock big block.

Well... It depends. There are Pros and Cons. The Z28 has a nice look to it. The Chevelle has one of those "Regular Muscle Car Bodies". But, the Chevelle has a faster engine in it with more horsepower. The Camaro Is pretty rare, It was also the best car at the time with the biggest production engine in 69. So My Opinion Is The Camaro.

70 SS 454 Chevelle. A 70 Monte Carlo SS 454 would be better, but if you can't find one, the Chevelle is better than the Z/28.
