Stuff is moving around in your tummy. The stomach churns. It's similar to sloshing liquid in a pail. Stuff moves and makes sounds. When you eat, it muffles the sound because the food can absorb it. It's like hitting an empty pail instead of a full pail. The full pail will make a dull sound which may or may not be loud. The empty pail is usually loud and certainly not dull in sounding.

During digestion the stomach musles squezze the food in your stomach through to the small intestines and that is squezzed to other areas where the food is diverted to energy our bodies use.
But, usally when you are hungry there is little to no food in your stomach, so when the musles squezze the room remaining kind of acts like a suction cup or something and you hear grumbly noises.
Yet you aren't always hungry when the tummy growls saying that it is empty. Hunger mostly has to do with whether you have enough energy to keep your body warm.

That's the acid churning in the stomach. When we are hungry, our stomach redies itself for food by creating acid and the mouth creates saliva, when there is too much acid in the stomach, it churns and bubbles as there is less gas to help disperse the excess acid.
That is why our stomachs rumble when we are hungry!

It's gurgling to let you know it's empty. The stomach acids and other stuff in there moves on to the intestines.

When the stomach is empty, it triggers a sound that goes throughout your tummy. When you have satisfied your hunger,it will stop.

low levels of glucose (energy) in our blood trigger chemical reactions in the brain which in turn send nerve impulses to our illium (intestine) causing it to contract, thus giving us physical signs that we need to eat to replenish our energy needs.
