My daughter loves art supplies anything to make crafts out of, especially her own jewelry, clothes are always good but I would stick with gift cards to the gap ,old navy or target.
Boys are more into video games gift cards another winner so you dont get them one they already have

Play makeup, barbies, cds, dollar store or walmart has packages. Get something that brings back memories or inside jokes for my brother I got him wooden spoons, a locker and antibacterial hand soap. Walmart sells gift sets. Also this site has some really good ideas: http://www.gifts.com/
