It's about two people who fall in love but are living in two different times. She is two years ahead of him. I liked it and didn't find it hard to follow.

It's actually not that hard to understand. First of all the reason why they are able to talk to each other two years apart is never explained and I liked that. But the story goes like this: Sandra Bullock has just moved out of a house in the year 2006. Keanu Revves has just moved INTO the house in 2004. Sandra leaves a letter for the new owner that some how manages to be in the mailbox in 2004. The mailbox works as a whole in time, allowing them to communicate through it.

Sandra B. is moving, she leaves a letter in the letter box for next tenant. Keanu R buys the house for sentimental reasons as his dad built it for his mum. He reads the letter and then the correspondence starts. They realise there is a two year time difference, because he is behind in time he makes a effort to meet and get to know her and falls in love with her. It is a love story with a twist.

Well, I haven't seen that movie yet but I think it's about, him building the lake house and she rents it, and they send letters to each other, and they fall in love( yuck) but the thing is he is in the past and she is in our time, I think there is 3 or 4 years difference.
