I have the very first issue of High Times magazine. I wasn't alive when it came out, so it's authenticity is questionable, but assuming that it's genuine, how would I determine it's value and who would be interested in buying it? I could probably sell it on Ebay, but not without an estimation of its worth. The print media is grey/green and it's only 15 pages or so, but it's in good condition. Please comment.

I sell a lot of collectables, on and off eBay, and quite frankly it really doesn't matter what an object is worth or catalogue at, it's real value is either sentimental or the highest price you can get. I've sold items that catalogue very low and got a high price, specially sports memorabilia, and have tried to sell stamps/coins catalogued at veryl high values and was offered about 20%. My point of view is the value is in the eye of the buyer, and if your $1000.00 cat. value item can only raise a fraction of that, that becomes the value. Any item is only worth what you can get for it. The market will dictate the price, not the catalogue.

I saw an issue sell for $300 on eBay last year. The said copy was in perfect condition.

Honestly, if the condition isn't very good to mint, not very much. Couple hundred at most.
