It's pretty hard for a father to bond with baby before it's born...
Just concentrate on being a good daddy now.

Nothing happens. Some mothers don't bond to their babies before birth either. I think that bonding before and after birth is completely different anyway. Before the birth you're really bonding with your dream of what the baby will be. After birth you are bonding with the actual child which can sometimes be more difficult, especially if the child is much different then your dream or expectations. There are men that bond with babies that aren't theirs weeks or months after the birth because they've started dating the mother, or adopted a child, or whatever. I would not worry too much about it. Spend as much time as you can bonding with the baby now. You can't change the past and tommorrow never comes. All you can do is right now, and all you have is today. Take advantage of it. Good Luck

it may actually take a few months for the father to bond with his baby. my son was born 4 months ago and my Bf is just now starting to relly bond with a b aby. think about it...guys like to play... therefore when there is something around AKA a baby, that doesnt really do anyting but eat slep and poop... wel tats just kinda boring to them. when the baby stars to play and recognize what's going on around them, the father usuallybegins to bond bettter. Just make sure the fathr is around the baby a lot and holds him, giving him attention and affection. that helps bonding a lot. as for before brth...well thats really ahrd to do because you cant SEE or HOLD the baby at all. beleive me, if the father is around the kid its whle life, they will eventually bond. it jsut takes time. its lie meeting someone new that wont respond to you.

In my experience, I was pregnant my senior year in high school, and the father (my husband) wasnt there my whole entire pregnancy. Not his fault.. mine.. i had left him because i was scared. He enlisted into the military and wasnt even there when our son was born. Our son is a lil over 2years old now and he knows who his daddy is even though we dont see much of him due to the Marine Corps. A child always knows who their father is... they never forget a voice either.

I liked experiencedmotherof4's answer. Mainly because I'm dating a three-year-old boy's mother. I'm wondering how this would work out. We were out a couple of weeks ago and I was stuck in the car with him while she used the rest room. I switched on the car and it went "BEEP--BEEP--BEEP--" and I made a big deal out of it going, "BEEP--BEEP--BEEP--" and got him going, "BEEP--BEEP--BEEP--" and we had a great time, smiling and laughing. She couldn't understand this. I guess it's a guy thing.

as soon as it is born and he holds it the bond will be unbreakable. my husband swore the whole time i was pregnant that he would not bond as well with our daughter as he did with our son but needless to say he was wrapped around her finger immediately. dont worry, it will be fine.

Don't worry, it will probably happen when he actually sees and get to know his little baby!
