Depends on how late they were if they were only 5-20 minutes late I wouldn't, but if it was a multiple offence then I will try it or just fired them. If they were more then thrity minutes late then deducte pay.

If you are employed on an hourly basis, you get paid for the actual hours you work, not the ones you were supposed to work!

Don't be late, you won't get docked!

They can dock your paycheck the hours you didn't work. If you came in 15 minutes late they don't have to pay you for those 15 minutes that you weren't there working.

I haven't heard of that one yet... but technically speaking an employer can never pay less than minimum wage. What the range is above the min. wage is agreed to between you and your employer. But frankly... I would want to get that new policy in writing and then I would take it to the Labor Board and let them decide whether this is legal or not.

Do you think it is legal to be paid for time you did not work? Of course they can dock you. Be on time as you are paid for the amount of time you work.

If they are late by one minute and falsify the time card, the employee can have their time docked by one minute.
