What does it mean if you have a high ego?

There's a point in a baby/toddler's life when he is entirely concerned only with his own little self and his wants, and he expects the world to make him happy and generally revolve around him. This is normal for the baby/toddler. Usually, though, people grow out of this phase when they reach the next level of intellectual/emotional development.

Some people do not seem to outgrow this self-centered/self-absorbed and immature phase. As a result, they become giant two-year-olds when it comes to their wants, demands, needs, etc

A normal, healthy, person is very aware of how special he or she is NOT - regardless of how talented, beautiful, wealthy, educated, intelligent, or whatever else he or she happens to be. Healthy people are aware that all other people are equal to them, and they are not more special than anyone else.

egotists routinely over estimate their abilities and inflate their accomplishments and are often boastful and pretentious. they assume that others see them the same way they see themselves and are usually very surprised when someone does not praise them or have words of reverance and over affection for them. they are paradoxical because they are dependent on others for their self esteem, while believeing they are better than everyone else ..if they are better why do they need OUR praise huh? lol they are clowns
