What remains if you divide 4 to 6? It has to be an integer number between 1 and 6.

The answer is 4. Likewise 10 mod 6 is also 4. You can find the answer by dividing the first number by the second, then the remainder is the answer. So in 4 mod 6, you take 4 divide it by 6 and you get an answer of 0 remainder 4. So 4 is the answer.

An another example: 11 mod 6

11/6 = 1 remainder 5

So the answer is 5
