i know what thats like...I have 2 cats a crazy kitten and 1 dog 1 puppy....sorry to tell you that you can't really keep your animals away from the decor but your best bet is plastic break proof ornaments and don't use anything small enough for a kitty to swallow or for a dog to eat ( trust me my dogs have eaten some very odd things before) good luck!

We have decoy ornaments on our Christmas tree for our cat and have done this for our previous cats. The bottom of the tree contains only cat-friendly ornaments (non-breakable) ones for our cat to "bat" at. Although, I have to say, this cat is alot more energetic being only 1 1/2 years old! She's able to get higher than our last cat - he passed away at almost 20 yrs old! We also make sure we only plug in the lights for the tree when we can watch where the cat is - this year she showed us she knows where the electric cord is with her teeth. Our dogs are senior citizens (both 13) and they leave the tree alone.

There is no animal-proof Christmas... it's just a matter of changing your perspective a little. Other than chewing on lights, it's more just a matter of clean up. Use a squirt bottle and keep a dust pan nearby. Or just decorate with critters in mind- cat nip ornaments- NO icicles / tinsel- it will make them sick. We let ours rearrange the village- retrim the tree; it seems the less of a deal we make out of it the less desire they have. Cat psych 101.

hey
yes there are many pet safe decor out there for example- instead of puting tinsel on your tree buy the metal ones they shine like the real thing, they are what i have. also you can not put any glass ordaments on your tree for the cats the break, and you know how they get all up in your things they can go into the glass and cut thier feet.and if you want any more tips contact me at ashley_norman.1@hotmail.com or add that address to Msn

yes you start with the bottom use a stand with a full bottom not for legs then no bulbs past the bottom of the tree and no tinsel. if you use a tree skirt put tin foil under it they don't like the sound it makes. think plastic but not raped with string. put the light cords under the tree skirt. then have a happy Christmas. PS catnip works good too. for cats and dogs .

That became humorous once I observed the question i became like oh thats ordinary...a christmas tree...then I observed your added information. Lol i could say snow reason then you certainly could additionally make snowmen (I dont understand if that counts). They rock. I additionally love Christmas song even nonetheless thats no longer a decor. Now i will't wait till its closer to Christmas. i admire the couple weeks previously by using fact thats whilst we get our tree and placed all of our decorations up. :)

I doubt whether you will find any kitty proof decorations. You might need to put the animals in another room until the festivities are over.

no tinsel, definitly. we have a tree up at our house, and my 3 cats stay out of it. we also have some bows hanging on our banister, and all they do is try to bap at them, but haven't done any damage.
