For small fish like this, the general rule is one inch of fish per gallon of water that the tank actually holds. But keep in mind, that being live-bearing fish, you're just about garanteed to have more fish that you started out with at some point. Plus, filling the tank with that many fish puts a significant strain on your filtration system. The more fish you have, the more often you'll have to schedule your tank maintenence. Also, keep in mind the shape of the tank. Is is higher or wider?Because of the swimming patterns of the fish you intend to keep, a higher tank, which is thinner, would hold less fish. Mollies and Platties swim mostly back and forth, rather than up and down. So a taller tank would hold less of them. Also, it would hold less of the Cory cats, since there would be less floor space in the tank for them. A shorter, wider tank would easily hold more fish that a tall, narrow one. If your tank is a normal, everyday, off-the-shelf 30g tank, I'd say you would be best off with about 7-10 Platties, 4-5 Mollies, and 3-4 Cory cats. Remember, though, NOT to get them all at the same time. Only purchase 2-3 fish at a time, and wait about a week between purchases, if not longer, or else the ammonia buildup will be more than the tank's bio-filtration (nytrifying bacteria) can handle, and the resulting ammonia spike will kill off the fish. Purchase a test kit for your tank or bring water in to be tested when you buy your fish and make sure the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels are 0 before buying any fish. Also, check your pH (for these fish, it needs to be about 7.0-7.2) and your temperature (which should be 78-80 degrees). Add a bit of freshwater aquarium salt (NOT Marine aquarium salt) as per the manufaturer's directions to help keep the mollies and platties from becoming ill. It also helps to add a bacterial cultural, like Cycle to the tank, to help it mature faster.
I hope this helps you!

The 1 inch per gallon doesn't apply to the fish ou have named but only to small bodied fish such as neon tetras and guppies. For a 30 gallon tank I would go with about 4 cories, and about 10 of the other livebearers. although they are small when you buy them they will grow to larger sizes unless they die first. Platies and black (common) mollies will grow to about the cappacity of 10 per 30 gallons when 4 cories and decorations are added.
(You do know that mollies are brackish water fish and cories cannot tolerate any salt in their water?)

Basically the rule is one inch of fish per gallon.
Why would you want to waste a nice aquarium like that on a bunch of mollies. Get some cichlids or soemthing.

4-6 if you want them to stay small. The fish adapt to their environment and will stop growing when it gets overcrowded.
