I bought a PS3 from Japan. The manual is obviously in Japanese. I know it runs on 110v. Does it have an internal transformer to suit UK 240v or will I have to buy a seperate transformer

Well most likely you will have to buy a new adaptor, unless it's a HongKong version, those are also at 240V

i'd avise you no longer to target to cord it to 240....warmth and smoke are undesirable issues. contained in the US maximum residential potential is dropped on the abode in 3 wires: 2 warm legs @110V and a impartial it is tied to floor. The voltage contained in the nice and cozy legs is AC and each and every is one hundred and eighty ranges out of section with the different. more beneficial merely at the same time as one leg is +110V the different is -110V the version between both is 220V (for the experts out ther it is only a simplification that ignores line rms/ section distortion, and so on. and so on.). in the adventure that your speaking about US residential potential then your outlet would have any of three diverse configurations: a million. 2 warm terminals, 2. 2 warm terminals and a impartial, 3. 2 warm terminals, a impartial, and a floor. the quick answer is once you've the properly acceptable configuration it could be carried out yet get an electrician in there, you do not opt for to ruin your self or burn the position down!
