first thing is pay off all of your credit card debt, or student loan debt..........then make an appointment with an investment broker or an investment person at your local bank....put all of the money into a money market account, you will not lose any money here and you will make a few % gain until you decide on what you want to do. a house is the best thing you can do with your money, so you probably want to buy a house with maybe up to 20% of that money. and overtime invest the rest, don't spend it on a fancy new car, that is the worst thing you can do.

I would pay off my debts- credit cards, etc. I would talk with a financial officer about investing- should I pay off my house?
I would also invest the money for my retirement.

Then, I would buy a new car- a hybrid! And, possible take some trips- I haven't had a vacation in a long, long time!
