I got my PSAT scores back, and i know i did poorly on Critical Reading, but here are my scores:
Critical Reading: 31 - better than 6% of Juniors
Math: 53 - better than 63% Juniors
Writing Skills: 49 - better than 61% of Juniors
Total - 133 (39 Percentile) So SAT is predicted to be 1330
----
On an SAT i took last year, i got
Critical Reading390
Math570
Writing420
Total: 1380 (so i guess i went down)

Also, most colleges dont accept Writing yet, so how bad did i do?
What colleges can i get into

P.S. - My mom is freaking about about my reading. Would reading books really help, they bore me to death these days.

You should try going to a test prep or something of that sort if you have time. Otherwise there is not much you can do =\

Most colleges look for 1600+ SAT scores and if you're looking to apply for a good college, you'll need 2000+. Ivy league colleges look for 2200+.

Sorry to say this but yea you do need to work on your critical reading a bit. Try to get it up to at least a 500. Math is the easiest to improve so a 600+ should not be a problem.

To improve your reading, try to increase your vocabulary. If you have time, reading newspapers/magazine articles is the best way to learn more words. Otherwise, try using flashcards.

although some colleges say they don't "look" at the writing score, all colleges can see it. reading books definitely helps. a lot. but depending on when you're going take the SAT, it might be a bit too late, since you can't cram for an awesome writing style of your own (which one could acquire by reading a lot). :(
it seems that your reading score is the lowest, so i'd definitely go out and get a copy of Kaplan's or Princeton Review's workbooks. (I'd recommend Princeton Review.) just keep at it and you'll be fine. remember, there's a college for everyone out there. you might not be able to get into, say, Oxford or Harvard (no offense), but definitely don't be discouraged. :)
