I have a handbag with a metal clasp to close the bag. The metal has snapped on both sides so the bag wont close. Its my favourite hanbag and was wondering if it could be fixed by using a soldering kit. Any advice pls.

I don't think you can solder it , but you can spot weld it.

Silver solder is lower temp than welding, stronger than regular (electrical) solder, but needs a propane torch-a soldering gun won't get it.

For the trouble it would to repair the clasp, it would be easier to replace it--even it you fix it, it will still be more likely to break again.

Try superglue its quicker and cleaner, its also strong enough to do the job.
