Latino, Hispanic, Mexican all are determined by "where" you consider your "base-root" heritage to have come from and they are NOT all the same. "Illegal immigration" has to do with ANYONE/EVERYONE who is here illegally, not just those of the afore mentioned heritage.

Maybe Latino is a generic term for people who have immigrated and lost their true heritage

properly, probable some people are very ignorant, mexicans are latinos if their roots come fron spain, and would desire to people do have spanish roots. Mexicans are latinos, sure, there is not any longer something incorrect with that, additionally some europeans are latinos.

Had a Puerto Rican friend mention she was Latino. I asked her where "Latin" is located. She has since referred to herself as Puerto Rican, especially after I told her she should be proud of her heritage and not trying to disguise it.
