My friends daughter came home stoned and was with a bad influence friend. I told my friend (who has zero experience with drugs) that the "friend" might be high. She asked me if her daughter was and I said "I am not sure, that is for you to decide" and then told her the tell tale signs to watch for. Should I have done it differently?

It is something that every parent should be informed of. If you know/ wonder if she is...she probably was. I think it is important for parents to be well informed and you did right in what you did. Your friend has a lack of knowledge and needs to know what are the "real" signs. Now if you had told her how to deal with it ...that would be differant. Let her decide how to discipline.

No I believe you should have told her the truth.. Drugs tend to lead to other drugs, as they experiment. The girl's mother needs to be educated and warned about the escalating habits of drug users. Today it may be marijuana, tomorrow it may be herion. Next week she may be in the ground. Sorry for being so blunt, but as a paramedic, I've responded to way too many calls for kids on drugs....also who have died or were killed as a result of drug use. That girl's mother needs to wake up.

you did the right thing, now it's up to her what she does with the info. If something happened to the kid and you hadn't spoken up, you'd never forgive yourself
