what are the differences between the servers, I know 1 is called "Ifrit", is there something special/unique to this server, example, I was thinking as Ifrit was always a fire beast does that mean "Ifrit" server has something to do with fire like a fire based world or fire bonuses, or are the names of server something much more mundane and plainer then that like something to do with the continent you live on and has no in game differences between servers, thanks in advance:)

no there is really no differance in the servers.. you either get assinged to one, or you can have a friend buy you a world pass to a particular one.. they are all intergrated with people from around the world, and the only thing that may change is the inflation rate in the Auction House (AH) that is where you can buy items that are being sold by players, really alot of the stuff is a rip off so stick to the NPC stores if you can.. but the different servers is a way that Square Enix (SE) keeps from one being completely over crowded and some becoming under populated, if you know what i mean.. but the servers are named after a lot of stuff from final fantasy history, like characters, and summons..

Huh? Sop you're after a server for FF11 thats private, so no other people, and not as expensive? Doesn;t exist. First, private servers defeat the whole point of online rpgs. You're SUPPOSED to contact other people. Second, all the servers are run by the same company. The company that made the game. There's no variation in price between them.
